The next milestone on our way toward the imminent official stable release of Cyphal v1.0 is the formalization of the Cyphal/serial transport specification. The updated Cyphal v1.0-beta specification document with Cyphal/serial is now available:
Cyphal/serial is designed for use with arbitrary unstructured full-duplex byte-level communication channels, such as TCP/IP connections, RS-422/232, UART, USB CDC ACM, and similar. It is also suitable for log files.
Cyphal/serial is already supported in PyCyphal, plus there is ongoing work on libserard.
