# The firmware upgrade was successful, while the UAVCAN GUI Tool showed one of firmware update requests has timed out

The GUI keeps sending repeated update requests until node goes into firmware update mode. Timeouts can happen if firmware update is initiated outside of bootloader for example. Then a few requests may timeout until chip is rebooted into bootloader and ready to receive the file. There could be other situation that cause timeouts (flash erase). But this shouldn’t cause any issues and there is nothing to worry about.
